MP5 Magazine Compatibility

My friend and I both have a few MP5's and we've been annoyed by the lack of magazine compatibility between them. Some mags and some guns seemed more cooperative than others. The other night, we got all our guns together with our mags and worked out a table of what fits in what. We didn't test feeding and assumed that any mag which fit would feed.

These are just our observed results, so maybe not true in 100% of cases, but might be a useful guideline to have.

The only major brand we're missing is CYMA, which by some accounts, is a G&G clone. It is to note though, that JG is a Marui clone, but did not necessarily take all the same mags.

Overall, the most co-operative gun was the G&G MP5 and the most versatile mags were TM and SRC. G&G and ICS mags were too loose to catch and stay put in the JG but could possibly be shimmed with some tape.

Guns were: G&G MP5SD, SRC MP5 Gen 2, JG MP5, TM MP5K HC, ICS MP5SD P*.
Mags were: TM short double HC Hicap, JG Hicap, ICS Hicap, G&G Hicap, CYMA stubby mid/lowcap, SRC Hicap and Lowcap, Angel Custom MP5-10 Straight Hicap.

Hello World

Hello world. This is my first attempt to create a page to post my thoughts on airsoft, mainly to share with my friends, but also to anyone else who happens upon it and is interested. I'll try and review things as best as I can and post information on armoury problems I've managed to solve.

I've also hosted my Airsoft Legitimacy Guide here, which lists the various sites I've discovered which will sell a person in New Zealand (or anywhere else which is not America) airsoft stuff. I've ordered from a lot of them in the past, so you don't have to be the guinea-pig with shady Chinese retailers.
